In the last few months I have reed so much about the efforts to push girls into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). There are articles with methodologies promising to change girls´ perception about all this topics of study.
However, there is no mention at all about what moms and families can do to support this approach to STEM. All efforts under academic conditions are just one important part of the equation. Since my point of view, academic abilities are generated in schools, but the encourage and support to a girl´s self-steem to do and become what ever she wants is within the family boundaries.
Moms are “the cornerstone” to build the self-confidence for a girl to see science, maths, technology and engineering as dar-to-day issues.
